Jordi Yarborough, SVP of Community Engagement at the South Carolina Ports Authority, will discuss SC Ports operations and terminals, its economic impact, future expansion plans, and their biggest value being “safe and secure.” Learn about the port and the risk management steps they take to be safe and secure. The first 13 people to register will get to tour the ports up-close.
As a top 10 U.S. container port, SC Ports promotes, develops and facilitates waterborne commerce to meet the current and future needs of its customers, and for the economic benefit of the citizens and businesses of South Carolina. SC Ports ensures the efficient movement of cargo between South Carolina and global markets, serving as a vital economic engine for the Southeast. Port operations create 1 in 10 SC jobs and generate a $63.4 billion economic impact on South Carolina each year.
Attendees will receive lunch at this in-person meeting plus a tour of the port. The tour is limited to 13 people, so first 13 to sign-up for the meeting will get the tour and anyone else is welcome to attend the meeting portion.
Attendees to bring for tour: Please wear closed toe shoes (in case we can get out on terminal – depends on how busy the port is at that moment) and valid government issued ID.
